Switzerland day trips

We got to Renate`s and got situated around 1pm, then went to Lucerne (Luzern) for a day. It was cute, had a bunch of little shops and an H&M on just about every corner. This is where we really realiyed that swityerland is EXPENSIVE though. Note to self, my next travel excursion is going to be third world. Or maybe 2nd at least. The town has an old castle, but only the walls remain hi on the hill, giving the town a slightly royal/midieval feel. Some great pic opts with the Swiss alps in the background.

We spent a half day in Basel, which was cute, but not terribly exciting. We then headed back and met up with Renate for dinner in France... just because we could.

We headed to Zurich for a day. The city was kinda cool, it was sort of New York, done smaller and with Swiss style. Lots of Swiss Banks... I tried to open an account jsut for the fun of it, but apparently, they aren`t allowing americans to open accounts there anymore due to the pain in the keister that our government has been about the topic lately. (I`ll pause for your moment of shock.) So bummer, but oh well. The city was very pretty and had a huge lake and park at the south end of it. Check out the pics with the swans and stuff-very cool. Oh yes, and this city was also very expensive. Great sweets though, yum-Spungli Confessionary (or something like that).
